When crafters vacation…
Here is my crafting home away from home. I set up on the beach today and made many bracelets in front of the beach with a beautiful sea breeze blowing. Heaven! Those are my bags of buttons, embroidery floss, crochet hooks and scissors. My big bag of yarn is off to the side.
Some little cuties I made. I love blue and brown and green and brown. The ones in the front are my favs, I tried crocheting two yearn together for the one in the back and it had inconsistent patterning.
Superman Crochet Cuff
Tiger got a Superman sleep set a few years ago that came wrapped in this cotton Superman lace. I still have a bit left, so I might have to make some simple ones for Etsy. Patriotic button on the other end… The Bracelet of Steel.
The One True Shawl
I started this shawl before our vacation but finished it a few nights ago. The majority of my precious was done with yarn remnants. I wanted it with cool colors that would pop. I’d say it screams, but in a good way! I added some brown to tame it and because I have brown outfits...
Socialization
One of the things I hear over and over again regarding homeschooling is socialization. Many neigh sayers are very concerned with socialization since my daughter is an only child. Well, while on vacation visiting the tide pools ate Cabrillo National Monument, it was so evident that socialization is just not a concern. My daughter was...
Maternity Skirt re-do
My mom bought me this beautiful skirt, but it was maternity and, fortunately, was too big. Not to worry, I simply cut and re-sewed the waist to make it into a halter top. I added a crocheted trim with some beautiful leftover turquoise yarn that matched the blue in the skirt perfectly.
Justice League – Crocheted!
I took one of Tiger’s old shirts and cut the collar and sleeves off. I crocheted a collar with silver and black yarn and re-stitched the sleeves with the crocheted trim. Close up of JLA and neckline. Close up of the trim
Welcome to the Hotel California
Tiger, hubby, bought me this very cool Hotel California T-shirt. I had to add my own crafty spin of course. I crocheted a trim on the neckline after cutting it into a swoop. I also added some trim to the sleeves.
Cuff Bracelet for my Mom
Here’s a crochet cuff bracelet I made my mom on our trip. Cross charm Heart dangle charm and a star button to finish it off!
Soccer Star crochet cuff bracelet
My daughter is now a soccer star, so I made her this fuschia crochet cuff bracelet with star buttons. The picture doesn’t do justice for the color – it’s pretty intense. You can’t see it, but there is a ton of sand already embedded in it. My daughter wore it to the beach here and...
Peter Rabbit Cuff Bracelet
I love Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit was one of my favorite characters from a very young age. What other story could normalize my life like Potter’s books? I didn’t know anyone else who was given Chamomile tea for tummy aches. So, I was thrilled when I found this cute little button at Joann’s. I...
Vacation = Lots of crocheting
Using turquoise, purple, and green I made a cool crochet cuff bracelet. I got a very cool dingly-dangly thing for a buck and added it since it had the same colors. I am definitely going to be making more of these. I am very proud of the cool twisty detail. That was fun to make...
